dug this one up....been a long time eh Mari?

Whispers in the afternoon
the hum of insects drunk with nectar
flickering images,
like a Charlie Chaplin film,
play in my mind.
once again, the almost memories
of a possible tryst,
of a love affair to be......
are all that I have left,
mingled with scent of red roses
and flat Champagne

Been a very long time...................................

Dewdrops at the end of noses
frozen breath, frozen feet,
mittens, cold wool sheaths
from snowballs made and thrown
sleds, fast and thrilling...
hot chocolate when we get home
winter joys, icy toys,

Celluloid images
recalling reality or just a moment captured
where is the story
or do we make it up as we go along?
Moments that are fleeting
held forever

I looked into his eyes
saw mirrored there my soul
the Raybans were a blue tint
accentuated my eyes
and let me see the fear
the monkey on my back
the desolate reflection.

I looked into your eyes
saw mirrored there my soul
the blue tint
accentuated your eyes
no fear no spectres
just love
in reflection

Look at my face
See me as I am
As I feel
Look into my eyes
My soul is mirrored in azure blue
Please do not love me blindly
This is all I ask

I wanted because my heart desired
fairy tales eluded
I finally concluded,
my heart
was not such a good judge of character
rather it was flawed
in it's desire
far better to be content, than
trying to fall in love.

This is my heart.
I whisper to it at night.
"I will find you a friend,"
I say. "You will not be alone."

Everyone you love,
I say, refreshes you,
even if they do not love you back.

Love is not a token,
I say: it is not a swap.

I will find you a friend.
You will not be alone.

OMG Jer this is absolutely fabulous!!!!!!! Thank you

Bay Street down to God knows where
unwashed body smells, stale cigarettes
desperation looking into coffee cups
talking softly to the constant companion
the nemesis of normal
foot tapping
iPod tunes audible only to the owner
look away as the guy on the bender
comes down
before his visit to CAMH
the interlude between one bottle
one line
one high
and the next

bye for now everyone gotta go again for a while~

I come here once in a while
smile as I read the shout outs
was there too
and the anger was never directed at you
just nebulous
almost intangible
helping me to hang on
to sanity

so we come and go
some leave but return
others who have learned fade away
then there are those who stay to play
the games never change
just the players
or maybe not

'K ...first time posting.....

Sixty, Sexy, Single, Stoned...oh wait! Disregard the last adjective......

I do not have nose hair, communicable diseases, am not looking for a bank account, am fairly witty, educated, well read blah de blah etc....

So what am I doing here?

Trying to find answers as to why men in my age group seem to want chicas 20 years younger? Or want a woman with a Vic Secrets bod? At 60??? get real! Childbirth and gravity are not kind!

Any answers????

What an amazing poem

Tears, salty, stinging cheeks
rolling down in synch with the Last Post
wiping the snot away with my hand
as I struggle to understand
the futility of that which we
are here to honour.

Ta darlin....

Has the Dog gone AWOL?????

Dog days have yet to come
looking forward to hot days and cool nights
looking to find me someone
who works days
and nights.
Blow my breath out tonight
thinking of tomorrow
wont see a trace of me
in the sun
just the night frost
and a vapour trail
of where I am gone.

I know I'm a psychomagnet
reverse attractions and all of that
prolly goes with my short attention span
mariposa, I don't really need a gardenin plan
cause there is always a butt wantin imprinted in the sand
goes with the palm trees, ma'am

Go with the psychobabbel
hell a pair of board shorts and Oakleys
will get you a grandstand
an Oratorium in an Atrium
and living plant life have the WORDS
if I was younger I'd be all over you
but distance and age leave me...
your thread and a bum print.
Bed...dreams of BD...
hell thats a good night for me

I think that all of us at one time or another have felt this....mine was at aged 10 in a cinema with my twin sister...and a revolting specimen who tried to touch me.....and almost succeeded...until I screamed very loudly and he scuttled away.

need the bottles to float out messages
goes with the peninsula livin
kinda like usin grills instead of ovens

BD, love that quote
rather you would float my boat
than send a message in a bottle
unless it's Pinot Grigio...ya know
that's eyetalian
for fine wine
at least in my vocab.
Did you say penisular living??
my idea of heaven...or hell
depends on how well endow....
