North East Singles Walk - Wylam and the Tyne
Posted: 5/29/2013 10:50:48 AM
Yes I know the trains run along that route but I live in Ryton so would mean bus to metro centre then get train to Wylam going back through Ryton then vice versa at the end. Hope you all have a good day.

Ideal scenario for me - I hate having to leave my boy home alone for 4 weeks in summer (I take 2 weeks annual leave then) Love the idea of a longer school day too although he may not lol

NEWCASTLE SINGLES PARTY - Sunday 3rd March at Bar38
Posted: 2/21/2013 7:49:54 AM
How long before your message is deleted - find every time someone makes a comment on these events it gets deleted almost immediately - used to be good to be able to chat on these threads when they were held at Shearers, make arrangements to meet up, share experiences of previous events etc and that in itself used to encourage more people to go along to them. They used to post photos too so poeple could see attendance and having a good, fun time too

Advice on getting dates?

Put a private one on and send when you send a nice thought out message - shallow People who only judge by looks are not worthy of your time

The north south divide on poverty
Posted: 6/6/2012 10:52:37 AM

wonders how a northerner would last in the south after paying £3.75 for a pint!
and 1.50 for a bag of chips!

I live in the north (near Newcastle) and my local chippy is £1.50 for a bag of chips and I paid £3.50 for a pint on Monday in a local pub - town prices are even more.

Champions league final or date?
Posted: 5/13/2012 11:14:52 AM
I met someone on here a couple of years ago and our dates always coincided/were planned around champions league football - was great having someone to watch it with whilst being out on the town too.

Vegetarians, Vegans and Meat Eaters
Posted: 5/13/2012 5:01:26 AM
Each to their own, I eat meat and have never contemplated being a vegetarian or a vegan but I know people who are. I would never say to someone they should be eating meat when they don't and I don't expect them to do same to me. We all have choices to make in life and it's down to the individual to make their choice and not be berated for chosing it.

Teenagers!!!!
Posted: 5/13/2012 4:47:01 AM
My teenager is 12 ..... Hardly see him anymore - take yesterday he was in bedroom all morning on x box live chatting to his mates, straight after lunch at 1pm he went out with them to local shopping centre and the park to play football, arrived home at 8pm and straight upstairs back on x box live. Ive seen him for two minutes today when he came down for a drink and asked what time Sunday lunch was today .... back in his bedroom.
Saturday mornings he knows now are the day I want all of his dirty laundry out and plates, cups etc downstairs so he does this now without the nagging I used to have to dish out. Then I get to clean it/change bedding etc when he is out playing.
Think it may be about time in my life to also get myself some mates and go out to play on a weekend and share a lonely evening downstairs with !

I'm not ticklish at all anywhere so its just a mild annoyance when someone tries it with me especially when they don't believe me and keep on trying to find a spot !

Remember the days before mobile phones?
Posted: 5/12/2012 9:22:06 AM
I use my mobile for everything - texting, phone calls, e mail, internet, games, music, weather, calendar, time, alarm, calculator, facebook, twitter .....

And now my HTC Desire isn't charging properly and with 6 weeks to go until my contract is up for upgrade I have purchased a basic phone in the interim .... Really difficult to get used to such a small phone and its buttons instead of touch screen. I just couldn't go back to the 'olden days' of having nothing at all to communicate with people !

Free Loaders?
Posted: 5/12/2012 5:48:43 AM
It's in the past - got nothing to do with you any more as he's your ex. Would never expect anything from my boy's dad although I would like to think he would give him something out of it considering he has never given him/me anything for his upkeep since he left when he was nearly 3.

'Babe', punctuation, and one-liners - what irritates you?
Posted: 3/24/2012 11:54:35 AM
I agree with the OP - hate 'babe, hun, honey, love' etc. If I was serious about someone I would tell them that, in the mean time I ignore ... sorry !

Hate text speak and although I can text for England my messages are all written in correct English language.

Although I do confess to add 'lol' onto an awful lot of them ... guilty of that one ... lol

Adding to Favourites
Posted: 2/3/2012 11:01:19 AM
When I get the e mails on my phone saying ".... wants to meet you" I favourite them and then look at their profile later when I get on my lap top - then 9/10 they are un-favourited and dismissed.

I've done it myself on the phone app - click yes on a pic and didnt realise it sent an email at first, although it doesnt actually mean you want to meet them really does it - so now I don't use that feature !

Tributes for a Killer
Posted: 7/11/2010 3:32:19 PM

As a mother of a 20 year old university student living in Newcastle, who rides to work in Sunderland via Rothbury each day, I can't say enough how relieved I am that it's all over.

Hmm why on earth would someone who lives in newcastle travel to sunderland via rothbury ? Rothbury is about 26 miles northwest of newcastle and sunderland is 13 miles south east of newcastle !!!

I am one of the saddos then that not only has facebook but has also joined a few groups about Raoul Moat - didnt deserve to be killed by the cops IMHO

Traditional Sunday Lunch or Not?
Posted: 7/11/2010 10:04:48 AM
Just had a lush one this afternoon in one of my local pubs - treat from my eldest son for my birthday - really nice to have one again as I don't usually bother to make one at home for just myself and my youngest lad :-( May have to treat ourselves to one a month out in pub me thinks :-)

Facebook and friends
Posted: 6/24/2010 11:40:46 AM
I have 111 friends on facebook and I know every one of them - added a few strangers a while back to help with my 'farming' but decided to remove them again after about a week. I try to keep my friends to below 100 which some of my friends find rather strange but it's a nice roudn number I think :-)

I tend to add more friends before an annual ice hockey charity event I attend as I know I shall see them there and like to keep up with the banter etc but then delete them about 6 months afterwards if no contact during said 6 months.

How dependent are we on technology?
Posted: 2/18/2010 4:19:50 PM
I am absolutely dreading taking my i phone to be looked at tomorrow in case it needs to go to apple and I shall be without my lifeline - its always with me/beside me, I will be so so lost if I don't have it .

Lap top is always on - another think I would be lost without but could cope if I had my mobile lol. TV is always on in this house but rarely watch it - its background and I prefer sitting watching stuff on lap top actually !
