I just discovered their compilation on Spotify. Search for The Glories and under albums is Soul Legend. It has their entire output of 15 songs. I own the Japan only issue of the CD that has 17 tracks (2 versions of 2 tracks are the extras).

I just added Soul Legend to my library, and listened to 'I Worship You Baby' for the first time - great track! Thank you cooldog! I'm listening to the rest of the album now. :-)

Edit: Ooh, cooldog - 'Try A Little Tenderness.'

I've had many women look down their noses at my line of work. I've been a building contractor all of my life. Most, I believe, think that I spend a lot of my time looking for work. Yup, I must have spent, Ohh, perhaps 20 days in my working life not having another job to start after I've finished my last job. Most, however do not know of all of my talents.

Anything you have sitting under the peak of your house, I can build or fix. This includes most of your major appliances. (Short of Refrigeration) May as well add into that mix, your car, mower, or anything with a gas engine. I've built a number of grain handling, and mixing equipment operations from the ground up. Most farm equipment. I can fabricate most anything out of steel. I can repair any swimming pool, or spa tub. I know how to run any piece of heavy equipment. I can drive anything, including semi tractors. I can operate most machine shop equipment. I know how to pull water wells, or fix any plumbing issue. Electric, all, including some three phase industrial. Until the digital age came along, I could even fix analog. Heating, well, if it's got a standing pilot light, I can repair it.

I can even miss vacations on a regular basis. Mainly because people will swamp me with work- quite often. I'm a first call on most household disasters, because people know I can bail them out of many situations.

Yes, I'm one of those nasty folks that does "Dirty Jobs". My days are never dull. How many can say," I went to work on a roof, but instead, I got an old flat head Ford V-8 started, tuned, and installed in a '52 Ford ratrod- And got paid to do it".

Sometimes, life can be more interesting than a date.

Endless Summer Nights
Good post!!!

Agreed - great post. I cannot comprehend why someone would not respect the profession of building contractor. Contractors generally work for themselves, they are smart with their heads and their hands, and not to sound crass, but they can make good money.

Maybe she drinks because her fiancé of six years is on a dating site looking for someone "real".

Just a thought.

That's definitely a piece of this. OP, why are you on a dating site if you are engaged to be married?

Being that so many men are predators

What percentage of men do you think are predators? I believe that about 15% of the population is estimated to have personality disorders, which would include the predatory such as Anti-Social Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder. And of course that 15% includes women.

Do you truly see the world as 'being that so many men are predators'? I see it as 'a significant number of people (meaning men and women) are predators.'

Men are our natural predators.

There are predators among us. Sociopaths for example. Some are male, some are female. Some prey on men, some prey on women, some prey on both. To believe that men are the natural predators of women is distorted thinking imo.

I don't think that's the case. He was deleted not long ago (in February, given his re-join date.) I think he was deleted again. I think Henry has GTO's email address; maybe Henry could write to GTO and ask him what happened.

You're overthinking this. Bartenders are usually friendly and flirty, & with a lot of patrons so they could garner more tips. Sometimes I'll get a guy's number instead of giving him mine, especially if I'm not all that into him, because I don't want unsolicited phone calls/texts from a man I'm not interested in.

I’m thinking no slow songs (no men to dance with), so mostly fast or semi-fast music.

I would agree with this.

And she said something about “music that empowers women” (???) One of her girlfriends always asks me to play Helen Reddy, “I Am Woman”, so I’ve got that covered. What other music “empowers women”?

"I'm Every Woman" by Chaka Khan.
And of course "Respect" by Aretha.

Edit:
"The Men All Pause" - Klymaxx
"Naughty Girls Need Love Too" - Samantha Fox
"Hot Stuff" - Donna Summer
